The Imperial

We are proud to announce that the kickoff party for the 2015 Vancouver Fetish Weekend will be held at Imperial Vancouver, one of the most exciting venues in the Vancouver fetish scene.

Originally a Chinese-Language house in the early 70s known as the Golden Harvest, the theatre was a popular destination for watching authentic kung-fu movies. In 2007, after more than a 2.5 million dollar renovation, Oscar nominated film producer Bill Vince re-opened the doors as District 319.

Modelled after the Electric Cinema, a multi-purpose venue in London, the theatre’s current incarnation is a cross between your typical art-house screening room and a high-end steak house, with subtle design elements giving a nod to the venue’s past. In addition to its unique design the theatre was renovated to include a state-of-the-art theatre with 35-mm and HD digital projectors, Dolby THX surround sound, and ultra-comfy red leather club chairs.

The deluxe auditorium and fully functioning bars are only a couple of its allures. Even the washrooms are stunning; the tiled sinks wouldn’t look out of place in an ultra-contemporary hotel. A successful marriage between the old and the new has set the foundation for another page in the venue’s storied life.
